Description
TERMINAL FADE is the signal-loss plugin: not cosmetic degradation, but the picture actually dying. Every effect is modelled on how tape and decks really fail, from oxide shedding to the dropout compensator that tries to hide it.
What it does
- Dropout — hard white or black streaks where the RF carrier is gone, with the authentic 1H dropout-compensator line repeat and its fade.
- Generations — Nth-dub decay: softening, chroma delay bleed, noise and contrast crush compounding per generation.
- Chroma death — color dies per scanline while brightness survives.
- Wow and flutter — time-base error as per-line horizontal stretch and drift.
- Tracking collapse — the bottom band breaking up into snow.
- Signal death to alpha — decayed regions fall to black or to alpha = 0 for compositing.
- Palette LUT and polygon matte — colorize the death, or confine it to a shape or a picked layer.
Workflow
Macro knobs in SIMPLE mode, the full set in ADVANCED, presets, every parameter keyframeable. NTSC processing block at the end of the list.
Native C++ for After Effects and Premiere Pro, scanline-first engine.
